Promosalons - About Pollutec 2016
Organised by Reed Expositions from 29 November to 2 December at Eurexpo Lyon, Pollutec 2016, the leading trade show for the environment and energy markets will bring together 2,500 exhibitors and 60,000 visitors from all over the world. For the show's 27th edition, every detail will be taken care of to foster the development of international relations between those operating in these markets.
Since its creation, Pollutec has continued to attract large numbers of international visitors. Every show now brings in nearly 11,000 visitors from a hundred different countries. Their aims are quite precise: they wish to develop technological and commercial partnerships, obtain technical information, discover the latest international offers and innovations, and meet up with the best suppliers. Pollutec is thus an ideal meeting-point for companies in the eco-industry seeking to export their expertise, equipment, technology and services.
In this respect, it should be noted that the French eco-industry sector is particularly dynamic overseas. Exports in 2014 totalled € 8.75 billion, mainly in the recovery of raw materials, waste water and renewable energy sectors(1). These exports go to the European Union, Switzerland, the Maghreb countries, West Africa, and also China and the United States.
At the same time, Pollutec 2016 is expecting over 700 exhibitors from countries outside France and numerous national pavilions. By mid-May, eleven national pavilions were already confirmed: Flanders, Wallonia, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Saxony, Bavaria, Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, China and Japan. Exhibitors already registered were from Europe (EU)(2), Switzerland and Monaco), from Turkey, from Israel, from China and from South Korea. All these indicators lead us to anticipate a 2016 edition that will be highly promising in terms of international cooperation.
Pollutec proposes in parallel five focuses to examine a number of major global themes: the sustainable city, sustainable industry in the future, the aquatic and coastal environment, agriculture, hospitals and sustainable development.
The flagship event for environmental innovation since 1978, Pollutec exhibits some 200 innovative solutions every year on its stands and during its lectures and prize-giving ceremonies. It will go even further this year, introducing innovation spots, specific exhibition areas co-hosted by professional, institutional and academic partners, together with eco-innovative start-up clusters. For its part, the global programme of lectures includes talks dealing with the aids and obstacles to innovation in each sector.
