Gala dinner 2026
On 17 June, the Danish-French Chamber of Commerce welcomed members, partners, and friends to our annual Gala Dinner at the iconic Langelinie Pavillonen in Copenhagen for an evening dedicated to celebrating the relationship between Denmark and France, and to recognising key members of our community and their significant efforts.
Bringing together leaders from business, diplomacy, and our wider network, the Gala Dinner once again provided a unique opportunity to strengthen connections and celebrate the achievements of the Danish-French community. We were honoured to welcome Brian Mikkelsen, CEO of Dansk Erhverv, as Guest of Honour. His keynote address offered valuable perspectives on leadership, European competitiveness and international cooperation, highlighting the importance of our strong relationships in an increasingly interconnected world.
The evening was also marked by several significant milestones for the Chamber. We paid tribute to our President of 15 years, Anders Torbøl, whose dedicated leadership has played a transformative role in the development of the Chamber. Under his presidency, the organisation evolved into a dynamic and influential platform for Danish-French business relations. Find a video of Anders’ speech via this link. We also had the pleasure of formally welcoming the Chamber’s new leadership team: Thomas Canguilhem as President, and Christine Heineke Petersen and Kim Meurs-Gerken as Vice-Presidents.
During this evening, we took a moment to bid a warm farewell to His Excellency Christophe Parisot, French Ambassador to Denmark, as he prepares to conclude his mission in Denmark. He has been a consistent supporter of our activities and the Danish-French business community, and has been a credit to his country as representative of France in Denmark.
These moments reflected both the Chamber’s strong foundations and its continued ambition for the future.
As a longstanding tradition, the evening celebrated excellence through the presentation of the Chamber’s Export Prizes, recognising companies and individuals whose achievements contribute to innovation, growth, and stronger ties between our two countries. Congratulations on the exceptional achievements to Schneider Electric, for their results on the Danish market, and to LEO Pharma, for their results on the French market. Thank you to CEO of Schneider Electric Denmark, Sofie Irgens, and to CEO of LEO Pharma, Christophe Bourdon, for accepting the prizes on behalf of their companies.
Guests enjoyed an exceptional culinary experience in the elegant surroundings of Langelinie Pavillonen, complemented by a selection of fine French wines generously provided by Les Grands Chais de France and a distinguished cheese buffet offered by Savencia Fromage & Dairy Nordics. Their contribution added a truly French touch to the evening and was greatly appreciated by all attendees. The evening ended with a lovely fireworks display over the harbour.
