IT Committee visit @ Saint-Gobain Isover plant!

On Wednesday May 7, the IT Committee were fortunate to be able to visit the Saint-Gobain Isover plant in Vamdrup, Jutland.

The visit was highly informative and gave a thorough insight into the site, which employs over 200 people.

The Isover plant in Vamdrup is a key manufacturing site for high-performance insulation solutions. It supplies insulation products, primarily focusing on glass wool, for a wide range of applications across various industries, e.g., building and construction, industrial applications, marine and offshore, fire protection system, acoustic solutions and more. By providing top-quality insulation, the Isover plant supports the growing demand for energy-efficient construction and renovation solutions in both private and public sectors, contributing to the global push towards greener and more sustainable building practices.

Additionally, the plant is actively embracing Industry 4.0 principles, integrating advanced technologies to improve manufacturing processes, productivity, and overall efficiency. The visit provided an opportunity to discuss some of their key Industry 4.0 initiatives within i.e., automation and robotics, IoT and smart manufacturing, data analytics and process optimisation, sustainability and energy management, and workforce development.

Thank you very much to Franck Guerin, Chief Digital & Information Officer at Saint-Gobain Nordic and Baltics, for organising the visit. Thank you very much as well to Hans Henrik Sunddal, Technical and Industry 4.0 Manager at Saint-Gobain Isover Danmark, David Keis, E-Engineer, project and planning group, Steve Mermoud, Data Scientist, and Florian Gally, VIE Maintenance 4.0 Engineer, for their expert guidance and presentation of the premises.
