Economic Outlook 2026

On Friday, 30 January 2026, the Danish-French Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Benelux Business Club Scandinavia, organized its annual Economic Outlook Breakfast Presentation at the Grant Thornton offices in Copenhagen. The event was held in partnership with Danske Bank and Grant Thornton and gathered members and guests from across the business community.
We were pleased to welcome Allan von Mehren, Chief Analyst at Danske Bank, who shared his perspectives on the global economic outlook for 2026. His presentation offered a broad overview of the current macroeconomic environment, highlighting the resilience shown by the global economy in 2025 while maintaining a cautiously optimistic view for the year ahead. Key reflections included developments in China, ongoing imbalances in the United States, and Europe’s efforts to navigate an increasingly complex and uncertain geopolitical landscape.
As a prelude to the breakfast conference, a group of senior executives from our network had already met with Allan von Mehren the previous evening, during an annual VIP dinner held on Thursday, 29 January, at Letz Shop in Østerbro. This informal exchange offered an early introduction to the key themes discussed the following morning.
The presentation was followed by an engaging Q&A session, allowing participants to exchange views and reflect on the implications for businesses operating in an evolving global context.
We would like to warmly thank Allan von Mehren for his insightful presentation, Danske Bank for its valued support, and Grant Thornton for generously hosting the event and welcoming us to their offices. We also extend our sincere thanks to all participants for their presence and active engagement, which contributed to a successful and stimulating morning.
