New Danish rules for parental leave

On August 2nd, 2022, the new Danish rules on parental leave will enter into force.  The reform is a result of a desire to tag more of the statutory parental leave to each parent, leaving more parental leave for the father or other partner than it is currently the case. According to the new rules, each parent is granted 24 weeks of paid leave, out of which 11 weeks are “earmarked” for each parent.

Furthermore, the Act introduces new rules on solo parents, including the option of sharing their statutory parental leave with close family members, and news rules on social parents making it possible for LGBT+ families to divide their leave between up to four parents.

360 Law Firm will be pleased to guide you about the rules and also ensure that your employee handbook is in compliance with the new rules. https://www.360-lawfirm.com/
