La Chambre
A message from Anders Torbøl

Dear Members, Dear Friends,
At yesterday's Gala evening I had the pleasure to present the new team, which from now on will lead the Chamber: Thomas Canguilhem as President, and Christina Heineke Petersen and Kim Meurs-Gerken as Vice-presidents.
As you may remember, this was a promise I made at last year's Gala, not because I thought that I was losing interest in the task, but realising that I was actually 3 months older than Donald Trump and hearing the reaction of our Ambassador Christophe Parisot, when we had lunch and I told him my age and he said: “but then you are older than my father”. This convinced me that it was time for me to stop my adventure with the Chamber. And an adventure it has been.
15 years from the little cosy club, where the highlight of the year was the bus excursion to one of Denmarks beautiful castles, starting with a “gammel dansk” and ending with a nice lunch on the countryside, to the full scale Chamber of Commerce, counting all the important French companies in Denmark and a few of the most important Danish companies. A Chamber, which can be of real assistance to French and Danish business, and is even capable of influencing the French and the Danish government to start and conclude a dual tax convention in a remarquably short time.
It has been a formidable journey, and I would like to use this occasion to thank those who have made it possible:
First and foremost the late Secretary general and founder of the Chamber, Rolf Meurs-Gerken, who asked me to be President and with whom I worked during the first years.
The Embassy, and Business France, who have had their share in the succes.
But above all Samuel, who has been performing as if it had been his own business. Being able to realise the most extravagant ideas and add his own. He has always made it a pleasure to lead the Chamber.
My thanks also go to Emma, Gregers, and our enthusiastic interns, to my always active and constructive board, and to our sponsors, who have made it all possible.
To the new team may I say, I believe we could not have found a better.
You have all proved your worth, each in your area, and I am in no doubt that with Thomas as your leader and Samuel as general manager you will be able to lead the Chamber into new adventures.
All the best of luck to you and thank you to everybody who have made my 15 years an exciting and joyful experience.
Best regards,
Anders Torbøl
