Relocare Connecting Danish Companies with International Talent

Relocare runs two talent programmes designed to help Danish companies connect with highly qualified international professionals: Greater Copenhagen Career Program (GCCP) and Cross Border Talent Bridge (CBTB). Both initiatives have been developed in collaboration with partners including the City of Copenhagen, Copenhagen Capacity, and the European Union.

What kind of talent are we talking about?

The programmes bring together carefully selected international students and specialists who have been actively identified as talent Denmark aims to retain.

Participants typically come from highly specialised STEM fields, including:

  • Engineering
  • Pharma and biotechnology
  • IT and technology
  • Mathematics and data science
  • Other specialised STEM profiles

Many of them hold Master’s degrees from leading Danish and international universities and are ready to enter Danish companies.

What do companies gain from participating?

Companies can join the programme as mentor organisations (for example with 1–3 mentors per year). Participation provides several benefits:

  • Early and direct access to highly qualified international talent
  • Strong employer branding among international students in Denmark
  • The opportunity to identify and recruit future employees
  • Access to a professional mentor network including companies such as Novo Nordisk, Maersk, Siemens, DTU, and several tech start-ups
  • Invitations to networking and workshop events throughout the year

The mentor programmes are professionally structured, with mentors and mentees carefully matched. Each programme runs for a defined period and offers a clear framework for engagement.

An additional benefit for non-EU employees

For non-EU citizens working in Denmark, participating as a mentor can hold particular value.

Voluntary work is a mandatory element when applying for permanent residence and later Danish citizenship. Mentors receive a diploma that can serve as documentation for the Danish immigration authorities.

As a result, the programme not only helps strengthen companies’ talent pipelines but also offers a meaningful development and retention opportunity for international employees within participating organisations.
