ESG Volunteer Day with EcoTree and Greenkayak
On Thursday 11th of September, we launched for the first time the ESG Volunteer Day. An event where our member companies and their employees could engage in volunteer activities that help our society.
This beautiful event gathered some of our members. Around 100 people attended the event:
- The French Embassy
- Alstom
- Pierre Fabre
- BNP Paribas Arval
- Thales
- Loeven
- Saint-Gobain
- Agent green
- Atout France
We had different workshops during the day:
With EcoTree, one of our committed members at the Chamber, the participants had the pleasure to visit one of the EcoTree forests in Denmark near Kalundborg.
They had the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities such as:
- Removing weeds and competing vegetation.
- Reinforcing the fencing around the area to protect the young trees from deer and other wildlife.
- Spreading targeted flower seeds to establish a vibrant flower meadow, promoting biodiversity and supporting microorganisms and insects in preparation for next spring.
This workshop aimed to provide participants with practical experience while contributing to the long-term health and sustainability of this afforestation project.
With Greenkayak, the participants were invited to do 3 different workshops:
- Kayaking to clean the harbours, collecting trash in the water.
- Land cleaning, collecting trash in the area.
- A trash art workshop where the participants used their creativity to create pieces of art.
It was a great atmosphere while collecting trash and networking in the meantime.
Many thanks to Thomas Canguilhem, CEO of EcoTree and Chairman of the ESG Committee and his team for this interesting workshop. Thank you to Greenkayak for accompanying us and the participants during all day.
Thanks to all the participants and your commitment to a better environment.
